Refit en 2004. afin de réabiliter certains équipement dans leur configuration originale. Cruinneag III est à ce jour à 90% dans son état d'origine. La coque, le pont et les mâts sont d'origine, idem pour le carré.

1936 - Construit par Dickies of Tarbert pourRobert Morton a industriel Ecossais (carpet manufacturer). Cruinneag III was laid up during the war years in Dickies yard in Tarbert.
1950 - Vendu à un Docteur anglais, le bateau naviguait alors autour de Poole, Devon England.
1957 - Vendu à George Christie, un héro naval de la guerre qui a gardé le bateau durant 40 ans dans sa configuration d'origine. Il croisait sur la côte ouest Ecossaise et souvent du côté du nord Espagne. .
1998 - Vendu aux propriétaires actuels, la famille RITCHIE. Le bateau navigue sur la cote ouest de l'Ecosse et en Europe.
2006 - Cruinneag III featured in the BBC documentary
