Barbados, a dream destination

Who hasn't dreamed of sailing to Barbados, a paradise steeped in the exploits of the buccaneers who once roamed the Caribbean in search of Spanish caravels laden with gold and precious stones? Today the treasure awaiting the competitors of the Transat Classique is Barbados itself!

Barbados is the most EASTERLY island in the chain island of the West Indies Arc and home to the Mount Gay Distillery. A faithful sponsor of the race, the distillery produces the famous Eclipse rum on the island so the crews can be sure of a festive welcome! The Transat Classique 2012 is a wonderful opportunity to discover an authentic and safe Caribbean island.

In January many crews raced around the Island on the 21 st January in the 76 th year of the Famous Mount Gay Rum Round Barbados Race.
